Hey! Look! Much better pictures!
Thanks to Bob Fredric and Mister 007 for the photos. : ]
*INDIANA JONES SETS*
This one looks very cool...not sure what to think about the back though.
Not bad. A little Johnny Thunder - ish. Except Johnny Thunder was based off of Indiana Jones :p
Cheap, good, generic $7.99 set. I dunno. Nothing special, although it looks like some nice new-color motorcycles.
The biggest, and probably best or second best of the series. But what is up with that biplane?
*STAR WARS SETS*
Thanks to Vidgamer838 and
Bob Fredric for these photos.
This thing is...butt ugly. Pretty much. However, the Rebel minifigs are to die for. Honestly this is a lot better than the Clone or Droid battle packs...new, exclusive minifigs, plus a mediocre vehicle. I don't consider the older battlepacks' extras as vehicles.
Speaking of bad...this is clearly the worst set in the lineup. Wow. Remember that set we speculated was an imperial dropship, but was just Larry Lars with an amazing immitation? Well, it blows this out of the water. Obviously. No contest. This is the worst I've seen Lego do...it's really just sad. I hope this one isn't official, or it comes with some armor that falls of that they didn't show, any kind of excuse....
A bit farther down the line of goodness (it will continue, don't let that last one dissapoint you), we have Anakin's Starfighter. Really...it isn't as bad as the above. But Lego did much better when the released Obi-Wan's Delta 7 in 2002. It's been 5 years, and clearly things have gone down.
However, there's a new part - that 4x4 circular piece near the front. Not a total loss.
I really...really, really like this. It's absolutely perfect...like the Geonosian Starfighter set except more kid-oriented, plenty of figures, and it's practically a battlepack. A whole bunch of these would make a sick army.
Which brings us to our next set. Wow...I have to say, this looks close to some fan AT-AP models. Lego did a very nice job here. 2 minifigs is enough. This looks like one to buy.
Finally, we have this lopsided beast. It's the spawn of Lego's fairly new contract with Lucasarts to use stuff not in movies. This particular one is from the "Force Unleashed" video game. It has 3 figures - see below.
The battle-damaged Darth Vader is really, really, a ripoff of fellow FOL minifig MOCs with the Aquaraiders visor upsidedown. Pathetic, Lego. However, the minifigs themselves (besides Juno's face) look pretty nice. No chrome hilts in this one.

Moar Schtar Wass
Johnsocal brings us more crappy, useless pictures of new and upcoming 2008 sets. We have a Rebel Battle Pack and a few figures that will be released from the new game "The Force Unleashed". Each shot will even take you to a page you can't see!!

Great mecha gathering in Japan
I just wanted to point out a huge gallery of mecha that recently came up. The user's name is LMO-JAPAN. Check some of these out - and remember the gallery is two pages.
And more!

New Star Wars Dropship planned for 2008
As one of the more avid Star Wars fans in the Lego Space universe, my role in the community has been destined to simply notifying the community about new sets. For all eternity. When I first saw this I really wasn't sure it was real...in fact it looked too good to be a set, to be honest. It feels more Space than Star Wars, but I ventured over to FBTB.net, and waddya know - there's a big topic all about it. I haven't checked but the chances are good that even if this is some leaked info (which I doubt) this set is coming sometime in the near future.
Thanks to Hugobax of Brickshelf for the picture (probably not the first to get it, but that's where I found it).
Apparently this might be a fake. And I agree...it certainly does look higher than TLC standards. Let's just hope.
OK, THIS SET DOES NOT EXIST. ;( IT WAS ONLY A MOC .
Okay, this thing is downright hawt. Ever since I got the big $19.99 Lego book when I was a wee chil' (:p) I loved looking at the boats. Jindroush did not make this but is providing pictures. The planning of the hull is something that only one of the best builders could pull of. Each brick is planned ahead of time in layers....the complexity of these boats is mind-blowing. Not to mention this one has an interior and a stern that opens up to show it as well. Not only is it one of the best-shaped boats I've ever seen, but it also has a nice interior...by boat standards at least. Wow. I can't stop staring at it.
Porchecm2 whipps out a nifty little saucer. The way the top is constructed just makes you cry. piece after piece...it creates an awesome effect on the eyes and can be considered completely "kosher" because none of the pieces are bending or breaking...we hope. Very cool MOC. If only it could have some more slope downwards...but that's pretty impossible. We'll save that for tomorrow.
And finally, Matt H uploads pictures of a train. Big whoop.
:D
